Visiting Square Books

Square Books in beautiful Oxford, Mississippi is one of the best bookstores in the country. I’m fortunate to live only a couple of hours away and get to make the drive a few times a year. I made my first Square Books trip of 2020 this past weekend, and it was an excellent day. My wife is out of town, so my mom came along on the adventure.

There is something about the multi-level building and the way that books are just everywhere. Look above, you’ll see them. Look ahead or behind you. Look down. Peak just about anywhere, and you’re sure to find something tempting you to purchase it.

I bought three signed books, and we ate at Ajax, which is worth the drive on its own, too. (The banana pudding is the best there is.)

Bookstores are all special, but Square Books is one that I hold close to my heart.
