34th Annual Southern Festival of Books

Anybody who knows me knows that the Southern Festival of Books is one of my favorite events of the year. This year I had an event on Saturday and couldn’t be there for the whole thing, but I was there on Friday for a few hours. I hosted a session with the one and only George Singleton, who was there for his new book of selected stories titled You Want More. I appreciate and respect his work a lot, so I was honored to be able to interview him and moderate his panel. He’s a funny guy. I’m sure anyone who’s read his stories would guess as much. Talking with him made me appreciate his work even more. I really enjoyed it.

It was a great Festival on Friday, and I am grateful I was able to be there to experience it—even if it wasn’t the full weekend as usual.

I’m hoping the 35th Annual Southern Festival of Books will be my return to normal.

Thank you to my literary friends at Humanities Tennessee for inviting me to participate, and thank you to Mr. George Singleton for the great session!
