Another Residency Comes to an End
All good things come to an end, and my MFA residency at Queens is over. It’s bittersweet for sure. I love my time with my writing community. My peers and teachers are some of the kindest and most encouraging folks I know.
This residency was really useful. We talked about structure and had all kinds of seminars on various topics and techniques. I’m especially excited to continue working with my group members throughout the next several months.
I was able to workshop a couple of my stories, and I’m going to send them out into the world and hope someone publishes them. I think they are ready. We’ll see, I suppose.
It’s hard to believe that I’ll be graduating this time next year. In the meantime, I need to write, write, and write. I’d love to get a big chunk of a second manuscript of short stories completed.
Anyhow, it was a really wonderful experience, and I look forward to January, when we’ll meet again.
